Welcome to the Mobilities/Methods Lab (MML) virtually housed at the University of Illinois at Chicago and directed by Dr. Tarini Bedi and a team of faculty and graduate student collaborators.  The focus of MML is to provide a co-curricular venue that engages faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students in both the theoretical and methodological aspects of anthropological research, particularly research in the areas of transport, infrastructure, mobilities, and movement broadly defined. The MML is also a repository for syllabi, course material, and commentary related to ethnographic/mobile methods. We provide a forum for students, educators, and policy professionals (many of whom are also interested in social science research theory and method) to find resources for teaching, research, and grant-writing. We are always looking to develop collaborations between academic institutions and organizations focused on cross-disciplinary mobilities research.

On occasion, the MML also provides consultation, advisory support, and links to experts for organizations and agencies looking or ethnographic expertise on their grants and projects.

We encourage colleagues from across disciplines to contribute and join in the conversation around mobilities! If you have a lab or research focused on mobilities and methods, please join us as a collaborator. Interested in contributing to the conversations around mobilities and methods, please contact us for additional information. Just want to be a part of the conversation? Join our listserv!
